Feed the Future: Fight Student Hunger The New Jersey Council of County Colleges, in partnership with New Jersey’s community colleges and the Future Alumni Support Team, has launched Feed the Future: Fight Student Hunger, a statewide fundraising initiative to combat student food insecurity at New Jersey's community colleges. Food insecurity is a significant barrier to student success. A recent Hope Center #RealCollege survey of New Jersey community colleges found that 39% of student respondents were food insecure in the 30 days prior to the survey, a figure that aligns with national trends. In response, New Jersey’s community colleges have ramped up efforts to address student hunger by creating on-campus food pantries, helping eligible community college students access the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), strengthening partnerships with community-based organizations, and working to de-stigmatize accessing basic needs supports. However, these efforts are in need of additional support in order to be sustainable going forward. Please select the community college(s) you’d like to support from the list below. All funds raised go directly to New Jersey’s community college food pantries, which are critical to supporting hungry students.
