"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger..."
In the Fall of 2021, I had a Full Time position, had started going back to school, and was on top of my bills.
In June, as I conducted my end-of-year interview, I was told my position would be reduced by almost two thirds (40 hours to 15). I began to plan.
Then, over July 4th weekend, I tested positive for COVID. I isolated for ten days; I completed one obligation, and... I started at the gaping abyss of August.
I was prepared to fight, and save, and plan, and prepare like a beast through this month, but... I can't. I just can't. I have rent to pay, bills to pay, and I'm behind on my clearances for school because the tests and checks are ~$400. (I'm trying to be a SpEd teacher, FYI.) I've applied for assistance, I've applied for new positions, I looked into unemployment, and I've applied for scholarships. I'm still doing those things. I took it all in stride. Then I discovered my tire is flat; no simple leak, two giant nails (likely from the construction across the way). And... I just can't.
So I'm asking for help. From anyone with anything to give.
Right now, my goal is just about my normal monthly need for bills, groceries, and rent. Anything after that gets thrown to my school needs. It might not go anywhere, or result in anything, but I'm asking.
And if those other opportunities pan out? I'll happily pay it forward to the next person. Hell, that seems the least I can do.
