Help Sowers Gymnastics Grow Into a Permanent Home!

Hi! My name is Leah Sowers, and I’m the proud owner and head coach of Sowers Gymnastics.

Gymnastics has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started tumbling at just 4 years old and continued through the age of 14 — spending 6 of those years on a competitive team. From there, my love for the sport only deepened. I coached the competitive XCEL team at the same gym I grew up in from 2019 to 2024, helping young athletes develop not only their skills, but also their confidence and passion for gymnastics.

In 2021, I moved to Pleasantville, Iowa with my now-husband, Nathan Sowers, who grew up in this amazing small town. I quickly realized there was a huge need for quality gymnastics and tumbling programs in Pleasantville and the surrounding small communities. With that in mind, I took a leap and opened Sowers Gymnastics to bring this sport — and everything it teaches — to kids of all ages and abilities.

When I first opened, I started with just 20 students. Thanks to the incredible support from local families and the surrounding communities, that number has now grown to over 200 athletes — and we're still growing every single session!

However, with that growth has come a new challenge: we’ve outgrown our current space.

Here's where I need your help:

We are currently exploring options to either purchase or build a permanent facility right here in Pleasantville. (Yes — our plans have changed!) This new space would not only allow us to offer more classes, but it would also open up opportunities for:

  • More class times and expanded age/skill levels

  • Employment opportunities for local residents

  • A lasting, community-focused facility dedicated to youth development through gymnastics

Creating this new space will be a major step forward for Sowers Gymnastics, but we can't do it alone. Your donation will go directly toward making this dream a reality — helping us secure land, construct or renovate a suitable facility, and equip it with the tools and safety equipment needed to serve hundreds of kids for years to come.

Whether you’re a current gym parent, a former gymnast, a Pleasantville resident, or simply someone who believes in the value of youth sports — thank you for considering a donation. No amount is too small, and every dollar brings us closer to creating a permanent home for Sowers Gymnastics.

If you’re unable to give financially, sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks is another powerful way to support us.

With gratitude,
Leah Sowers
