****Thank you for helping us to our goal! We will keep this fundraiser open through March 26th to boost the amount of donations we can give. We have decided to offer this donation to the Needs Map which maximizes the funds to those that need it. https://www.needsmap.coop/
Lelavision .https://www.lelavision.com https://www.facebook.com/lelavision/ has been invited to do an arts residency with youth relocated to schools in Istanbul due to the earthquakes in southern Turkey and the closure of many schools that were deemed unsafe.

For this residency, we are working with the international school, The Mind Academy & PTC Turkey https://www.mindacademy.com.tr , who will arrange 2-3 workshops a day interspersed between March 27 - April 7.
One month after the earthquakes, it is estimated that 850,000 youth have been displaced according to UNICEF. Over 50,000 students and 2700 teachers in Istanbul are being relocated to more earthquake proof schools within the city as of February 20th.
Lelavision has done art residencies with youth in Guatemala, Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia as well as throughout the United States, employing the elements of music, movement, and making (musical instruments and kinetic sculptures).
(The following images are from Lelavision workshops and residencies stateside and abroad. )

In Istanbul, we will be offering playful movement and making sessions that incorporate games, trauma informed somatics, InterPlay https://interplay.org , and musical instrument making from recyclables.

Our goal will be to bring delight as resourcing in the midst of the hardship through art and play. "To Delight" is Lelavision's mission statement.
Funds will be used for travel expenses, visas, and supplies for the residency. Any additional funds will be donated directly to the earthquake relief efforts focusing on refugee youth integration into schools. More specifics on the organization soon.
Tax deductible donations are possible through our non-profit umbrella. Checks can be sent to: Jack Straw Cultural Center, 4261 Roosevelt Way NE Seattle, WA 98105-6999. Please put "Lelavision" in the memo line.
Also, there will be a Friday, March 10th, 10:15-11:45 am PST online play shop fun raiser facilitated by Lelavision, co-director, Leah Mann, hosted by InterPlay Seattle. Email InterPlayNorthwest@gmail.com to RSVP and to get the Zoom link.
