I am currently pursuing my MBA in Sustainability at Bard College in New York. As a Lakota student from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, this opportunity means a great deal to me—not only for my own future, but for the communities that shaped me and continue to inspire the work I want to do.

My program requires several in-person residencies in New York City where students gather for intensive coursework, collaboration, and hands-on learning. These residencies are a critical part of the program and allow me to connect directly with professors, classmates, and practitioners working on sustainability, economic development, and systems change.

Traveling from South Dakota to New York multiple times, however, comes with significant costs for airfare, lodging, food, and transportation. Like many students from rural and tribal communities, these expenses can create real barriers to continuing education.

I am asking for support to help cover the cost of my remaining residencies so I can continue this journey and complete my MBA program. My goal is to use the knowledge and skills I gain through this program to help strengthen sustainable economic development in Indigenous communities and contribute to work that supports long-term prosperity and self-determination.

Throughout my life I have been deeply connected to my community through art, culture, and service. I am a traditional Lakota artist and have spent many years creating beadwork and cultural items that honor our teachings and relationships with one another. My education is another way I hope to give back—by combining traditional knowledge with modern tools in business and sustainability.

Your support will help make it possible for me to complete the final steps of this program and continue building work that benefits Indigenous communities and future generations.

Every contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting my educational journey. Your support not only helps me as an individual, but it also helps support my community and my tribe. Through my education I hope to bring back valuable knowledge and skills that can help create meaningful change on my reservation.
