My name is Reese Fazekas, and I am Miss Bluffton 2022. I will be competing for thr title of Miss South Carolina this June, and would love your support. I have created M.A.Y. I. – Manners are Your Impact. M.A.Y. I. strives to provide tools and activities to schools, parents, churches, etc. that help teach our youth good behavior and manners. I have created a PDF link with 20+ hand-drawn worksheets and games that teach different manners skills. In the United States, we observe certain months that are dedicated to a cause; April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, May is Suicide Prevention Month, etc. M.A.Y. I.’s goal is to proclaim May it be a Month of Manners in the month of May. I believe that there is no better partner for M.A.Y. I. than the Miss America Organization, as Miss America’s brand is about service and doing good for your community and that is exactly what we stand for. With your help, May it be a Month of Manners can spread into a nationwide movement that involves scholarships, awards, and recognition of citizens who exude kindness and good manners to their neighbors. M.A.Y.I. is already being sought out by local elementary schools and is scheduled to be apart of a few local kids camps, but this is just the beginning. After Miss South Carolina, I plan on meeting with the South Carolina Board of Education to have these materials integrated into elementary schools state-wide. Our goal is to also partner with Girl Scouts of the USA, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and local branch libraries to promote our materials and message. I have poured my time into this project because it is something that I truly believe in. From hand-drawing each worksheet to community outreach to get new ideas and collaborations from locals. No matter what the outcome is of the upcoming Miss South Carolina Competition, M.A.Y. I. is something that can last beyond me. The effects of the resources I have created will last from generation to generation and spread from community to community. If you believe in me or M.A.Y. I., please consider donating to help further my career and Social Impact Initiative, even a dollar makes a difference. Thank you so much!
