Shoes for the House: Comfort for Every Server
Sometimes kindness looks like a note of encouragement.
Sometimes it looks like a pair of shoes.
At a local Huddle House, the servers spend hours on their feet — often in shoes that are falling apart or offering no support at all. One battles plantar fasciitis. Another wears $5 sneakers with holes. Every step hurts, yet they keep showing up with smiles and kindness.
I started out hoping to buy one pair of shoes. But after seeing the condition of everyone’s footwear, I knew I had to think bigger.
Now, the goal is to raise $1,400 to buy supportive, slip-resistant shoes for the entire serving staff — every foot in the house. I’ve gathered their names and sizes and reached out to Shoes for Crews about a bulk discount.
Even $5 or $10 helps bring comfort, dignity, and relief to people who spend their days caring for others.
💬 Sometimes, the smallest act really is the most healing thing we do.
