If you're here, you're probably here because you saw a video from my social media! Which means, you probably already know me. My husband, our 2 kids, and I moved into a family home back in November of 2024. Said home is a 1980s single wide. The issues just continued and haven't stopped since we moved in. I started smelling a nasty smell when walking into my home; I thought something crawled into my walls and DIED. Come to find out, it's electrical wires. I told my aunt what I had discovered and she said, "Yeah, they quoted us 10k to completely rewire the whole house because no electrician will work on that hack job." My husband and I did the adult thing, got a new quote because that seemed outrageous! But guess what? We were quoted 15k TWICE by two different people.
15 grand is an insane amount of money. The goal for us is to be moved out before winter. We have no central heat and air, so we solely depend on electric heaters at night. We are all currently sleeping in one room. My toddler in a pack and play and our 16-month-old in the bed with us. We have an evacuation plan in case of an emergency. We are 2 parents doing our very best to get our kids into a safer environment.
