The Jacob W. Gonmiah Memorial Health and Wellness Center
A roof for today. A legacy for tomorrow.
We are Jacob’s family.
After he passed, we were left with grief—and also with the love and generosity of those who helped us lay him to rest. With the funds we had left, we decided to plant something meaningful in his honor. Not just a memory, but something that could grow.
That seed became the Jacob W. Gonmiah Memorial Health and Wellness Center—a space we are building in our home village of Duanpa Town, Nimba County, Liberia to serve our community and surrounding towns. We are just getting started, but our goal is big: to create a place where people can access the care they need close to home.
Right now, we urgently need help to finish the roof.
Rainy season is coming soon, and without a roof, the progress we’ve made—the walls, the structure—could be seriously damaged. This is our top priority right now.
We’ve priced out exactly what we need to get it done:
-
Cement: $200
-
Steel Rods: $369
-
Nails & Zinc Nails: $600
-
Gas for Sawing: ~$200
-
50 Bundles of Zinc: $3,750
-
Labor & Builder Payment: $1,800
That brings us to a goal of $8,919 to keep this project moving and protected.
🧡 What This Center Will Mean
When completed, the center will serve over 50,000 people across three districts. Most of them are farmers, students, and families who currently travel 30+ kilometers just to reach a clinic. This building will offer not only health services—but hope, dignity, and community care.
We know this won’t happen overnight. But we believe in starting somewhere. And we’re starting with the building.
We are deeply grateful for any support—whether that’s a donation, a share, or simply holding this vision with us. This is personal. This is family. And we thank you for helping us carry Jacob’s name forward with purpose and love.
