In 2016 I decided to adopt a dog, and give them my everything not even caring or knowing what I could or if I would get anything in return. I found her at Second Chances Pet adoption, amongst a litter of 7. She was the runt, the tiniest one, and barely resembled any of her siblings.

Through the years beyond she would go on to make friends with other dogs and people, go on trips to parks, downtown, and other places; learn tricks, learn how to fetch her own ice from the freezer, give every visitor happy snuggles, move from house to house with us enjoying new environments, do happy spins for water or 'ice biscuits', do a weird hunchy squirmy thing when she got her back scratched, paw aggressively at blankets to let us know she wants to be under, experience all of the seasons and their gifts of leaves, bugs, snow, and animals; try to eat the rain and spray from the water hose, chase lasers and chew on bones, take her bone to us just so we could pretend to chew on it then drop it on the floor 8 times before finally chewing on it herself, bark and play with me with her butt weirdly tucked under herself and her paws spread out anytime I dropped into a play stance, bark and let us know anytime a weird sound happened out of the norm, constantly follow one of us around making sure nothing snuck up on us, lick the back of my head or my arm to groom me, wrap her mouth around my wrist during playfights, absolutely full sprint chasing laser dots across the house and in the yard, bring back her ball everytime we threw it and nudge it at least 3 times before it reaching us to throw it again, telling us with zero sound and only her eyes of what she wants(this took a while to understand), sometimes spying around a corner and scaring the crap out of us as we turned around, she would break up play fights by pinching us with her little underbite as a way to 'protect us', get those big 'gimme' eyes and grip christmas and birthday gifts with the tip of her mouth and wiggle her head so fast it would shred open the gift and she would play with the contents afterwards, she would relax in my stream office and appear for my online friends and get loved... kick us with her happy bedtime wiggles before forcing her way under the blanket, and so on.

She has been my absolute best friend, the absolute love of my life, my little shadow, my little bubby. She has brought so much love, affection, fun, and protection to everyone's life she's ever been around.
After she turned 7 years old, in January of 2023, her health started to decline rapidly. Come March, her kidney disease finally started to greatly cripple her ability to eat, drink, play, and function. Today, March 21st of 2023, she can merely only lay here and rest. Her kidneys have given up, but she's still with us for a tiny bit longer. It hurts so much seeing her suffering.

If you are reading this, or have already read the entirety of this story; she will pass soon, or may have passed already with Vet assistance. The pain we feel has left our hearts reeling. She was so special, smart, goofy, and well behaved. It hurts, so much.
Unfortunately at this time with our aching hearts, we are also left with a huge bill from NC State, even though they did all they could there wasn't much left that could be done besides some stabilization and comfort. It was over $5100 for NC State and it will likely get close to a total of $6000 after everything else. We please ask that you help us with this financial burden left behind... and every little bit helps. If you cannot financially support it, please at the very least share this as much as possible on your social networks, or even local posters somewhere. Please, I'm begging you.
