Hey friends - Some amazing hackers encouraged me to share a situation I'm facing.
My adapted truck (49,000 miles) was totaled while I was away at Summer Camp. Insurance is offering half the replacement cost. The complexities mean months before resolution. Warranty tow truck crushed the cab, broke the window while raining, left it sitting, water damage, and extreme rodent damage to engine and interior.
I need to pivot to a more basic solution. Without transportation, I can't make medical appointments, transport Trevor (my service dog) or my wheelchair, or manage basic life tasks.
I need to raise $5,000 for down payment and fees on a basic vehicle.
Everything is welcome, and if more is raised it will go to the legal fees and paying down interim vehicle. Not looking for anything fancy - just need to stay safe, mobile and independent, very hackeresque 😉🤣
