The problem is clear:
- Fatherless children are more likely to suffer from psychosocial development issues, live in poverty, drop out of school, engage in school violence, abuse substances, and enter the juvenile justice system.
- 72% of adolescent murderers and 70% of long-term prison inmates come from fatherless homes
- 75% of adolescent patients in substance abuse centers are from fatherless homes.
- There are over 18 million fatherless children in the United States alone.
There are boys right now here in the US and all around the world facing abuse, neglect and abandonment.
Their hearts are being ripped to shreds.
It says in the Christian bible that your enemy…prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
This enemy is pure evil, and seeks to steal, kill and destroy all that is good.
We are in a world at war…a battle between good and evil and our hearts hang in the balance.

Son of a King is a film based on true events where a young fatherless man who fought to escape a life of crime, repeats the sins of his own father, sued for criminal fraud, and must come face to face with it all, or risk losing the woman he loves…
It’s in the ensuing fiery trials that the identity of his real father is revealed, offering to rescue him from this mess, but in the stain of his past, will he be granted his place as a son of a King?
You see, this film, this story…is my story. When I hit my rock bottom in my addictions, it felt like all hope was lost. I was a prisoner to the traumas of my childhood.
As a multimedia artist, I’ve been telling stories my whole life in one way or another, deeply moved by the emotions I can convey on the page or on the screen.
My whole career has been sharing the stories of thousands of influential people, using the gifts that God gave me for the benefit of others.
But the most powerful story that I have the authority to share is my own - the testimony of how Jesus raised me from being dead emotionally, spiritually and almost physically to alive and restored to a new life of such boundless goodness it’s beyond my wildest dreams.
Producing a feature length film has been a dream of mine since I was really young, inspired by the ruthless and gritty work of Tarantino, the deeply visceral and grabbing emotions of Guy Ritchie - the pure cinematic bliss of Steven Spielberg to the run and gun bold narrative style of the Youtube filmmaker, Casey Neistat.

Images above are examples of the look and feel of the darker parts of the film - a raw and gritty reality that our main character lives in.
The process to get this movie made is surprisingly simple in concept.
- First, with the team I’ve selected, we are going to produce a 10 minute Sundance-worthy short film taking the 2 most crucial scenes from the film that can stand alone and convey a deeply emotionally disturbing, moving message to those who watch it.
- Then, we are going to take the film to the Angel Studios Guild - you may have heard of Angel Studios from their work with the hit series The Chosen and the recent movie, Sound of Freedom. Angel Studio’s mission is to build a home for stories that amplify light, and we want to light a bonfire.
- Once in the Angel Guild’s hands, we have the opportunity to win the hearts of the community and move on to getting fully funded and guided through the rest of the production process by the best in the industry.

The risk: While my main path and goal is to go 100% the route of Angel Studios, I'm not able to guarantee this outcome after the short film is made. Other paths and fundraising choices are available to get to the next stage. If it's God's will, then it will happen.
I’m going to level with you, the biggest enemy I have to doing this project tries to fill my head with lies like -
- There’s no way you could do that
- Who are you kidding?
- That’s not a real job…
The only thing stopping me from going this is excuses and smokescreens…
And I’m tired of settling for decoys instead of the work God put me on this planet for.
Through this film, my dream is to awaken the hearts of 1 million fatherless men around the world and give them the same chance I had to start over.
Will you join me on this mission as a friend of the film, Golden Contributor, Gladiator for Good, Producer, Executive Producer or Angel?

- Once fully funded, we will go immediately into production with an estimated completion date of Feb. 1 2024
- Once the final edit is made, we will be submitting to the Angel Studios Guild for Approval
- Who is currently on your team?
- Right now the current team is myself, Chris Decker, my wife, Taylor Decker, my creative team at Creator Spark: Mike Laurence, EJ Molit and Francis Raye. - How will the funds raised be used?
- While there are certain hard costs like the Team and Time (includes my own time and the time of my team here at Creator Spark) and production costs, we also need to think about the future. Since this will be a major focus for me, I will also need to make sure I put food on the table for my family. Here is an approximate breakdown of the categories of expenses expected:

- What are the risks associated with this?
- The biggest risk in my opinion is not doing it. This message needs to reach the hearts of many people right now. Practically, there is a chance that we are not approved by Angel Studios. If that happens, we will always make the next right decision and have several additional paths we can take to arrive at the same final outcome after the short film is made.
