In loving memory of Liem Gia Tran, the family requests that donations be made in his honor, in lieu of flowers or gifts.
Liem was a devout Catholic and selfless in his giving to others. Donations will be divided among two nonprofit organizations:
- Capuchin Soup Kitchen - An organization inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, Liem's patron saint, dedicated to feeding bodies, nourishing spirits, and strengthening communities by providing food, clothing, and human development programs to the community. Liem gave monthly donations to this organization in Detroit, MI.
- Helping Hands Medical Mission - A nonprofit organization delivering compassionate healthcare and the Gospel to the most needy in the developing world. Liem's daughter joined missions in Guatemala and Uganda after her father introduced her to a priest serving in the organization. She will continue to serve pediatric patients in medical missions in loving memory of her father.
Both donations will be made in a lump sum in Liem's name after he is laid to rest. The family thanks everyone for the kindness and desire to emulate Liem's selflessness and generosity.
