I'm reaching out to lend a hand to my dear friend, who is not just a fantastic individual but also an incredible single father. Recently, he faced a major health challenge — battling colon cancer. The recovery process has been tough on him, making mobility quite difficult. Yet, despite all this, he remains a devoted father to his two beautiful daughters, who have just celebrated their high school graduation.
Being unable to actively participate in his daughters' lives as he would wish to has been a source of immense frustration and sadness for him. Those little moments, from helping with college applications to simply cheering them on in whatever they do, are made difficult by his current condition. It’s hard to watch someone so full of life and love for his family struggle to do the things so many of us take for granted.
Living in San Jose, my friend has always been someone others can rely on. This time, it’s him and his daughters who need our support. The weight of medical bills and day-to-day expenses is heavy, and while he is incredibly strong, it's clear he can't do this alone. I’m hoping to raise $4,200 to alleviate some of these burdens. It’s about giving him the peace of mind to focus on healing and being there for his daughters during such a pivotal time in their lives.
In moments like these, community becomes so vital. Seeing my friend push through with courage is both inspiring and humbling. I’m asking for help to bring some light into their lives, to stand by them as he has stood by so many. Every gesture of support serves as a reminder that they are not alone in this fight.
