Keyser Söze is an Italian greyhound who is four years old and the best baby in the whole world to me. On December 31 I was at work and my mom called at approximately 2:30pm. She called informing me that he was struck by a car outside her home. We transported Keyser to VCA clinic in Fishers, Indiana. There we were informed we needed $8000 to preform surgery. We applied for the pet care card. Everyone I know did. No one had good enough credit. We managed to come up with $1100 to have X-rays and make him comfortable.
We took him home with intentions of taking him to the ortho vet when we came up with more money. Less than two weeks later I was diagnosed with corona. I am a diabetic and became very sick from it. It caused spinning vertigo, extreme headaches, Nausea, and vomiting. I've been off work since 1/15 and have not returned yet due to complications still from everything.
We took him to Purdue emergency center because his leg became infected. They treated with antibiotics. Other than that. He has had it wrapped up since. He has been with my mom being taken care of because I've been so sick. A week or so into April, I went and got him. I unwrapped his leg and discovered it was way worse than I thought. The VCA said it could heal on its own. That was not the case. I got in contact with Judy from Harley's auction and they helped us raise the funds with the help of Henry's heart to get Keyser to West VIrginia to see Doctor Brown. Keysers had surgery and was doing good until his plate came off causing a need for a second surgery. He has been there since 4/10. Monday we find out when he can come home. The bill is to be paid off before I'm able to drive the 8 hours to get there. I'm asking for help with the remainder of the vet bill and some gas. Anything left over will be donated to Harley's account at doctor browns office. Keyser is my emotional support animal. I've lost my home and had to make grave changes due to circumstances beyond my control. He is all I have and truly all I need. Please help us bring Keyser home. I know he is homesick. Anything would help. Thank you from the depths of my soul.
