On September 30, 2024, journalist Wafa Al-Udaini was murdered by a targeted Israeli strike on her home which killed her, her husband Munir, their three year old daughter Balsam and their 9 month old son Tamim. Her two elder sons, Malek, 8, and Siraj, 5, survived the bombing and now need our help.
Wafa spent her life doing everything she could to help other Palestinians get their stories into the world. She founded the October 16th group, a collective of young Palestinian writers who wanted to become journalists.Wafa was driven by a desire to help her people and a passion for good storytelling. She made inroads in the English speaking world, impressing journalists and organizers with her work ethic and her intelligence. Her loss is an unimaginable crime.
