It started about 2 years ago when this fluffy black Pomeranian came into my life. He was six years old and he was given to me from a friend of the family that was having a hard time recovering from the Covid epidemic. When I agreed to take him, I was thinking I was helping her but soon realized she helped me.
From the moment he was give to me and I found out his name.... I knew that was going to change. He was named Stormy and as cute as that is... it doesn't fit his personality. Now, my husband, being the Kung Fu lover that he is, started with "Bruce Lee". But he didn't answer. My husband called out " Jackie Chan"? No answer. I then say "Chuck Norris " and the dog turns and gives me his full attention. I then said "Chuck, really.Ok. Chuck"! And he turned his back and wouldn't answer to Chuck but the second anyone said the full name, he showed excitement. Chuck Norris it is.
He was extraordinary well behaved, full of confidence, does adorable tricks and has tons of love that he is eager to share.
So I started taking him everywhere I could. He is very social and brings smiles to everyone he meets. His is getting pretty popular in the area. He even comes to work with me and is a Spokes Pup for the CBD pet line products in the shop. He really touches the community.
A couple of months back, I noticed Chucks lack of play and socializing like he normally did. Then I noticed he was loosing weight. Like a lot of weight rapidly.
I scheduled him with a vet as soon as possible and at that appointment, with a simple lab work, Chuck was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and cataracts. He will need insulin injection and constant bloodwork done on him for the rest of his life.
Now.... I am a Type 1 diabetic and have been for 40 yrs so I know understand what it's going to take to give him a healthy quality of life. It will not be an easy task.
The Vet bills, special food and snacks, puppy pads (from the excessive drinking do to the diagnosis), are getting to be expensive and now Chuck Norris is being referred to the Pet eye specialist for possible Cataracts surgery.
I am asking for your help in an effort to give Chuck Norris back his courageous and admirable life back. For the joy and attention that he has given other. To alow him to continue to bring this love to ALL.
