Our beautiful sister, mom, daughter and friend Shelly has been courageously battling melanoma for the past six years. In that time, she’s undergone five surgeries, countless appointments, and endless challenges — yet she continues to face it all with incredible strength, grace, and a smile.
Shelly is a self-employed hairdresser who loves her clients and her craft, but her treatments have forced her to take significant time off work. She never complains, even when things get hard. She just keeps going with quiet determination and faith.
This week, Shelly begins a new infusion treatment, and we’re hopeful it will bring her the healing she deserves. We’re starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial stress of medical bills and to give her peace of mind while she focuses on her health and recovery.
Shelly is inspired every day by her two amazing kids — her son, who’s in a pilot program, and her daughter, who’s finishing school to become an ultrasound technologist. They are her heart and her motivation to keep fighting.
Anyone who knows Shelly knows her kindness, her gentle soul, and her love for Disney — her happy place. Our hope is that she continues to find joy and still gets to make those magical memories she loves so much.
