Dear Friends,
As some of you might know I was born in Kharkov, Ukraine. My mother and I migrated to the United States on our own in 1989. The rest of my family remained behind.
On the morning of February 23rd, 2022 at 3.30am my family located in Kharkov woke up to shelling outside their home... "the war has started!" my cousin Valeriya texted me. From that moment, their lives along with millions of others were turned upside down and they found themselves running for their lives. Abandoning their homes, friends and everything they knew. They managed to escape through Eastern Europe and have now been granted a visa to Canada.
100% of the money raised here, will be given to my family in order to provide food and shelter. We are hoping there soon will be an opportunity for them to come to Maine.
