Hello everyone,
My name is Chris, and I’m starting this fundraiser on behalf of my family during an incredibly difficult time.
My dad, Gary Donat, recently suffered a serious accident that led to a brain bleed. Since then, his health has declined significantly, and he is now receiving care at home. This has been heartbreaking for all of us to witness.
My dad has always been full of strength and energy—never one to sit still. He has spent his life showing kindness and care, always willing to help, and never without a smile on his face.
My dad has taken in kids, adults and whole families to give them a place to stay until they got on their feet. He has always shown up for others without hesitation, and now it’s our turn to show up for him.
While we are grateful he can be at home surrounded by loved ones, the cost of full-time care is more than our family can manage alone.
Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the level of in-home nursing care and physical therapy he now requires. We want to make sure he is as comfortable, supported, and cared for as possible to get out of bed and on his feet.
