Update 1:30am 3/9 - Leia is cleared to come home from the vet and I was able to get a refund of $800 back since it was just for eight hours and not a full overnight!

----------

Many of you are aware of the family difficulties I have been dealing with on my own that have taken me out of my regular job. Dealing with my mom's dementia landing her in 24/7 memory care and needing to handle all of her affairs so far has cost me nearly three months of income in 2025 and I am all ready looking at up to another five months in 2026 while I deal with her house. Things have been tight-ish, but luckily my partner and I have largely been able to make it work.

However since January, Leia, my ride or die little princess, has started having health issues. We're fortunate enough to have covered all the costs upfront through care credit. Today though I needed to hospitalize Leia due to her unexpectedly getting into chocolate. So between the near thousand dollars chasing a diagnosis of Invertable Disc Disease (IVDD) and now two thousand in upfront hospitalization (if she's only in for eight hours), things are getting too much for an already stretched budget.

Leia has been with me since she was eight weeks old. She's traveled to events with me for the majority of that time. This tiny dog has been cross country twice, the spotlight stealer when I still streamed on Twitch, and one of the littlest princesses on the renaissance faire circuit. There are days where she has been the only thing keeping me going. I'm as dependent on her as she is on me. She's comforted me on days where I was in so much physical pain I could barely move, served me as a service animal through the worst anxiety and ptsd attacks, and just been the best dog in the universe I could have ever asked for.

Please help me help her as I want her to receive the best care possible. We're financially treading water as it is and I cannot ever bring myself to not prioritize her over my own well being.
