Hi, my name is Katie and I honestly never thought I would have to do one of these but here we are. My dog Lucy who just turned 1 in January, needs help and she doesn’t have much time left to get it. A couple of months ago she started to have seizures and after a bunch of tests, different doctors, and several thousands of dollars, it was determined that she has a liver shunt. This means that all of the dirty blood that is supposed to be filtered out through her liver is being rerouted around her liver and all the toxins buildup which cause the seizures. When she was first diagnosed I was told we had about six months to come up with the money but unfortunately today she has gotten worse. I am actually writing this sitting at the emergency vet while she gets treated. Rather than 6 months, she maybe has 2 months tops. I know times are tough for everyone and I definitely don’t want anyone to put themselves in a bad situation just to help me but for anyone who is able to donate it would be appreciated more than you’d know. I could go on and on about what Lucy means to me, she is my entire world and honestly has saved me. The past few years have been hell for me in several different ways and I ended up in a pretty dark place because of it. If it wasn’t for Lucy I honestly don’t know if I’d be here.
