Dear friends, caring supporters & everyone who stands for justice,
I am launching this campaign in honor of my dear friend — a gifted, sober musician whose life was cut short while he was staying in my apartment.
In the aftermath of this heartbreaking loss, the property management company handled the situation in a manner that was unlawful, negligent and deeply unjust. Instead of acting with care and integrity, their actions have compounded an already devastating situation.
I am raising $25,000 to take two urgent and necessary steps:
1) $20,000 to pay mounting legal fees to hold the property management company accountable.
2) $5,000 to hire an authorized, veteran-owned HazMat remediation company to properly sanitize the apartment. The unit is currently uninhabitable, leaving me displaced and temporarily staying with friends.
This is about more than just my situation. It is about ensuring that negligence and misconduct are not ignored. This is about justice, safety & preventing this from happening to anyone else.
