Hello!!! My name is Mads! I’m a queer native Hawaiian living here on Turtle Island. If you aren’t already familiar with my story I’ll get into details down below. Whatever money you may be able to spare means so much to me, and enables me to live independently, Thank you!

But anyway, TLDR, due to my circumstances, I am raising money for:

  • Accessibility needs (wheelchair gloves, stools)
  • Mobility aids (canes, rollator, footrests for my wheelchair)
  • Medical Bills/Appointments (X-rays, MRIs, Physical Therapy)
  • Medications
  • Car service
  • Car repair (breaks, tires, alignment)
  • Car Insurance
  • Gas
  • Urgent Bills (phone, power, internet)
  • Emergencies

Over the past year I’ve developed Osteoarthitis in multiple joints, along with other chronic symptoms that have yet to be pinned to a diagnosis. My arthritis has slowly eaten away at my ability to walk, stand, or sit comfortably for long periods of time. Through this I went on medical leave, and started the grueling process of long-term physical therapy. Although I'm recommended to go to PT 2-3 times a month, I've only been able to afford a single monthly appointment. My life changed in every regard. How I do chores, how I shower, how I walk, how I sleep, how i eat, how often I get out of the house, everything. I started walking with a cane, and at times I need a wheelchair. My needs always differ, but the pain is always there.

Unfortunately thanks to the current political landscape, Americorps was gutted, and with it my program, and my job (or rather, my leave). Because it was an Americorps job, I am ineligible for unemployment, even though they terminated my program a whole 6 months early. I’ve been trying to find remote or hybrid work, as I don’t meet the physical requirements for most in-person jobs, but I haven’t had any luck.
Thankfully my partner has a job, and although it pays for rent, we have other bills that are severely overdue. Not to mention, he needs my car for work, and my car needs upwards of $3,000 of repairs. The car still works, but I don’t know for how long. That car is our lifeline, and If it were to be out of commission, we would be ruined.

There’s so much I have to pay for, and so little I can do. Whatever you can give helps. Thank you for reading and donating! Please share if you can!

My apologies for the lack of pictures, I am also working toward becoming independent from my abusers, and need to maintain an amount of anonymity for my safety.
Thank you for understanding and following my story.

Hey! Great news an a mini update,

I soon to be 100% free from my abusers!

Although this does mean things might be a little hard financially, it means they have no way to manipulate me, and I am free. I'll start posting pictures of myself with my mobility aids and any updates as I am able to, and as I start to feel more comfortable leaving a digital footprint.

On another note!

Me and my partner are moving soon! It will give us the very much needed room in our budget to afford my financial freedom, but it will also mean I'll be able to focus on my arts! I plan on streaming more on Twitch and possibly supplementing our income that way! I could play games, or do art, or give tarot readings! I still have yet to settle on a niche. Regardless! it's something to look forward to, and something to work for!

When it comes to mobility, I was also recently able to get footrests for my wheelchair!!!! But also through using my wheelchair, I realized I DO NOT have the upper body strength to self-propel, so I think I'm gonna look for a rollator to try!

Thank you for reading, thank you for caring <3

Hello!!!

Thankfully a friend of ours is looking for a roommate, and with our lease ending in July, moving in with her would be a much cheaper option! We’re still talking through the logistics, but if this works out we might be able to *actually* save! Or even better, make a dent in our bills.

However, we still need to make it through June and half of July. Money is tighter than it’s ever been, and I’ve had to take out another credit card. My credit has completely tanked during this process, but I’m hoping by the end of the year that might be different.
