My son Carter is homeless right now. We are unable to have him live at the house because of a very complicated situation. It's not a matter of us not wanting him, it's literally not possible right now. Carter has made some short-sighted decisions, but I want to clarify right from the outset that he has not made any malicious decisions. He is a safe person. We are exploring many of the expected programs/avenues for help for him, but it is so much more difficult and complicated than I could have imagined, and it is going to take some time. In the meantime, I cannot sleep at night because it is so cold outside. I can't bear the thought of my son sleeping in his car. I have been getting him a hotel, but I am realizing that I just won't be able to keep this up on my own.
I have created this fundraiser to ask for help securing hotel rooms for Carter for the next 30 days as we work on getting him employment, counseling, and a longer-term living situation. $80 will get him a room for one night, but donations of any amount will be happily accepted.
