My son had a bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, he had IEP’s and was on SSI until he turned 18, he had started spiraling out of control at 18 as well! They changed his meds & then he had manic attacks to where he seemed possessed, he even thought I was the enemy and stopped  taking the meds and start taking street meds, unfortunately we didn’t know but at the time I wish I would’ve paid attention to the signs. He was failed by Oakland mental health system, such as John George, they even released him to the streets without calling me in the middle of the night. 
Long story short someone gave my baby some fentanyl he died at 26 years old I filed a missing persons report on the 7th of January, I never put in a missing person report in my life. They didn’t even care, I found out from the coroner’s that he has been deceased Since the 29th of December, I just found out on the 22nd of January from the coroner’s office, and not the police who we filed with. They didn’t even call us back and took well over 7 hours to even come out to file the missing persons report, I had to let them know how important he was to me, they  just didn’t care & I know we’re  not the only ones who the system failed, I just wanna raise awareness and try to prevent this heart breaking situation from happening to more families! I need to also petition the city of Oakland not just because they’re not doing they’re jobs but it’s far too many cold case murders out here, mothers are doing more of he investigating then the officers and they profit over the people. My goal is to create a safe place and give resources for families in need.
