In April of 2022 I was assaulted by a coworker at work and sustained a lower back injury. I've been out of commission and have not received any worker's compensation benefits.
Without being able to work for two months, rent has piled up, and I have been unable to pay my internet and phone bill, let alone buy groceries or pet food.
I like to think I'm an independant person but after this back injury I'm unable to do everyday things like sitting, standing, bending over and walking for long periods of time. I have definitley taken simple things like bending over to pick up my cat, or standing for more than an hour for granted.
I tried going back to work but that just made things worse and I'm constantly stressed about being able to survive at this point.
After being sexually assaulted at work in the restaurant industry two years ago and physically assaulted this year I'm attempting to make a major shift in my career but until I can be well physically and mentally I'm unable to make those vital changes.
