Meryem and her son Suheyl, have been transferred to two separate rehabilitation hospitals where they will wait for their wounds to heal before starting physical therapy. Unfortunately, Lale’s doctors were not able to save her left leg. Lale’s left leg was amputated on Tuesday.
Meryem and her children still have a long road to recovery and need years of physical, mental, and emotional rehabilitation. It is unclear if Meryem and her children will be provided with prosthesis due to their refugee status in Turkey.
These images of Meryem were taken just a week ago, her doctors wanted to send her home in these conditions and for her to wait it out until a place opened up for her at the rehabilitation hospital. After several phone calls and many arguments later we were able to get her a spot at a rehabilitation hospital.
I have learned first hand that Turkey is a country based on who you know and your status in society unfortunately, even when it come to a simple thing as requesting to speak with a doctor.
I don’t want to wait it out to see if and when Meryem and her children will be provided with prosthesis and the right rehabilitation care by the Turkish government. I want to look into private rehabilitation centers and organizations that will help provide the right care for Meryem and her children.
I can’t do this alone, please donate if you can to help toward providing prosthesis, wheelchairs, and rehabilitation care to Meryem and her children.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

We have located our sweet Suhyel, he is currently in the ICU at a hospital in Ankara. Unfortunately, Suheyl’s right leg has been amputated. We thank god Suhyel has been found and has family with him in the hospital. Lale’s doctors are still working on saving her leg but they don’t seem optimistic.
Meryem and her two children have a long road to recovery and will need all the support they can get. Please continue sharing their story to help. Thank you❤️🙏
