My brother Joe went to the eye Doctor in Denver on July 17th and was given unsettling instructions to go to a walk-in clinic. From there, he was sent to an ER to discover he had a brain tumor. The tumor was very large and pressing against his eyes, so it had to be removed as soon as possible. Fortunately, the process went fast, and he was scheduled for surgery on July 29th. After a harrowing 6.5 hours in surgery, the Surgeon was able to remove the entire tumor with no issues, and we were all very thankful to learn it was benign!
Joe lives alone with his dog Bubba and will be unable to work for at least 6 weeks. We are asking for donations to help him cover his mounting medical bills along with some monthly expenses! Recovering from brain surgery should be as stress-free as possible, so we've created this fundraiser to help alleviate financial stress. Hello friends and family,
Joe had his post-surgery appointment yesterday and it went really well! The brain tumor was pushing on his optic nerve, which had caused him to lose his peripheral vision before the surgery. Yesterday, we learned there is no selling or permanent damage to his eyes, and everything is completely healed🙌
We are so incredibly thankful that his vision is fully restored with no lasting issues!
At the end of September, he will go in for another MRI to check his brain to ensure proper healing is taking place and to confirm there is no regrowth.
As Joe continues to miss work while he heals, he could use your help with his mounting medical expenses. He still has a long road ahead of him with doctors appointments and expensive scans. Help him hit his goal so can get some medical bills covered and hit his insurance deductible!

Joe had a follow-up with his Surgeon yesterday in Aurora, Colorado. He is pleased with the progress and said he has no concerns at this time. Joe has a black eye from surgery, and his head is still pretty swollen. The medical team assured him that he will be healed up and feeling much better in 4-5 weeks. He still has a ways to go but has high hopes for a smooth and speedy recovery!
