Nasser Rabah's great poetry has finally begun to travel the world, first in English through Gaza: The Poem Said Its Piece, published by City Lights, and, more recently through two books in Spanish translation.
But Nasser and his family, like everyone in Gaza, remain under Israeli siege, the blockade of food, medicine and all humanitarian aid. Over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed, and many more than 6,000 wounded, trying to reach the new US/Israeli food distribution sites. These numbers keep rising. As people become more desperate, more will try to reach these lethal sites.
Many have already been killed by this man-made imposed starvation, in which food is a weapon for genocide. People are fainting in the street. Over the coming days and weeks, many more thousands will simply succumb to the conditions imposed by Israel, the US, Egypt, and many others complicit in the genocide taking place in Gaza.
In addition to being a poet and novelist, Nasser Rabah is also an Agricultural Engineer, and he has been offering his expertise and knowledge through recorded tutorials on the best methods for growing food under these cataclysmic circumstances.
As you raise your voices as and wherever you can, please consider donating whatever you are able for Nasser Rabah, his family, and their community in Gaza, as they muster all their remaining strength to survive this catastrophe.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
