Dear Friends and Family,
My dear, friend Christina Stropes and her husband, Julian lost their home this past Sunday from a tornado that ripped through Plevna, KS. They lost a vehicle, their shed (that had Julian's art studio), and their house.
Christina is a long-time friend from college. She had her heart set after college to build her own cob-house. Yes, I said it...a cob-house! She did extensive research, even taking a week long class to learn how to build one. Eventually she found one that was already established. Just about 20 minutes from Hutchinson out in a little town called Plevna. Christina loved her home. She took great care, creating a home for chickens, a cow, and even a horse for some time. A few summers ago, Christina and Julian lost their barn and everything in it including wedding stuff, art paintings, and clothes to a fire. Even though this was a catastrophic event, Julian and Christina embraced it with grace. They were thankful the fire didn't get their house and that they were okay.
Christina and Julian are two of the most gracious, loving people I know. They handle struggles with such finesse. I don't know how they do it. They both are such caring people having jobs that make a difference in the lives of others. Julian is a high school art teacher and Christina is a social worker. Their love for people and the environment are over-flowing.
Please, if you would pray for them and their little 3 year old, they would appreciate it greatly! I'm also asking if you are able to donate what you can to help them rebuild their home. Thank you and God Bless!
