My name is Erik M Hicks, and I am creating this fundraiser for my close friend, Gaela McGinnis, as she faces a serious and unexpected medical journey.
Over the past several weeks, Gaela’s life has been filled with medical appointments, blood work, a bone marrow biopsy, difficult questions, and tremendous uncertainty. She has now begun chemotherapy and is taking this journey one day, one appointment, one test, and one prayer at a time.
Through every challenge, Gaela continues to rely on her faith, remain positive, and move forward with courage. She did not share her story seeking pity. She shared it because life can change without warning, and she hopes her strength may encourage someone else facing a difficult season.
Gaela is surrounded by people who love her, including her husband, Curtis, family members, and close friends. Now, we are asking others to stand with her as well.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help reduce the financial pressure associated with her treatment journey. Contributions will help with medical-related expenses, transportation to appointments, daily household needs, and other costs that may arise while Gaela focuses on her health and recovery.
