Because She Is Not Just A Colleague or Friend - She Is Family

Many of you have seen or heard what is happening to, and being said about our dear sister, Courtney.  

 

In moments like this, the world moves fast, and 
narratives form quickly. Judgment shows up before truth has time to breathe.
Distance becomes easier than understanding.

But we are not the world 🌎!!

 

We are community.

And community does not abandon its own in difficult moments.
Community leans in with care, with clarity, and with conviction.

 

This fund was created by Courtney’s Community Violence Intervention Leadership Academy (CVILA) alumni cohort and a network of peers across the Community Violence Intervention field — people who have worked alongside her, learned with her, and witnessed her commitment firsthand.

 

Courtney has poured her life into this work for over 7 years. 

 

She has stood in the gap for communities navigating violence, grief, and systemic challenges.
She has helped build pathways for healing, safety, and opportunity for young people and families.
She has led with strategy, heart, and an unwavering belief that communities deserve better.

 

This moment does not and WILL NOT erase that.

 

It does not define the totality of who she is.

 

And it does not change what those closest to the work already know:

Courtney has walked in legal, ethical, and moral character — and she continues to do so, even as that character is being questioned and tested in public.

Now, she is navigating a challenging and deeply personal season that requires support, protection, and space to move through it with dignity.

 

This fund exists to:

• Support Courtney with immediate needs during this time
• Provide stability as she navigates legal, personal, and professional challenges
• Offer tangible solidarity, not just words
• Surround her with the same care she has given so many others

 

This is not just about financial support.

 

This is about alignment and CRISIS RESPONSE that we have seen her build for our communities. 

 

This is about who we say we are when it matters most.
