Help Us Save Kobe: From a Foxtail to a Life-Altering Surgery
Hi everyone,
We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for help for our sweet dog, Kobe.
On the 4th of July, what started as a fun day turned into a nightmare when Kobe got a foxtail embedded in his foot. What should have been a routine foxtail removal turned into an exploratory surgery resulting in no foxtail discovery and extensive trauma. After 3 days the incision sight worsened and became clearly infected. Seeking a second opinion Kobe ended up in another exploratory surgery where a foxtail was discovered and removed. Unfortunately, the damage from the initial surgery and infection was so extensive the body was unable to heal. The result was complete necrosis of his toe and foot leaving the option of amputation or euthanasia.
This has been an emotional and financial rollercoaster. On top of the $15,000 surgery itself, the recovery process will be long, difficult, and expensive, with appointments estimated at $400 every two days for the foreseeable future. Altogether, we are looking at a total of around $15,000+ in vet bills.
Kobe is family. He’s loyal, gentle, full of love, and has been fighting through every procedure with so much strength. It breaks our hearts to see him in pain, but we’re committed to giving him the best possible life moving forward.
If you’re able to donate, any amount truly helps. Even just sharing this with your friends and family means the world to us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting Kobe. We are beyond grateful.
With love and hope,
Kobe's Family
