Our family suffered a sudden and heartbreaking loss. Mark Adams, who had only been married to my mother-in-law Sue for 6 months, passed away unexpectedly from an aneurysm.
Sue is 80 years old and on a fixed income. There was no life insurance. She did everything she could to keep costs down and chose the most affordable cremation option.
Even with that, we had no idea how many fees and costs come with settling even a small estate. Now she is also facing debt in Mark's name that she didn't know about.
Her daughters and I are doing everything we can to help, but we are stretched thin. Right now Sue urgently needs help paying for the cremation so she can get Mark's official death certificate and finish settling his affairs. Without that certificate, she can't close accounts or move forward.
