Hi I am Laila Love aka Leah Sauder, founder of Doggie Tails Rescue in Nov. of 2015. We have always lived on site with our dogs, sometimes relying on a foster or two, but mostly fostering all the dogs in our home, which we moved to a new location in 2020 after a tragic fire. We have a house in commercial zoning and even thought he raised the rent +700 dollars when the new landlord bought our house, he allows me to have as many dogs and live/work housemates as I can handle. I currently have a 28 yr old young Mexican American man and his 3 little girls, who like to help as well with picking up new rescues, or adoptions, or even feeding or letting out the dogs. Currently we have 37, although it ebbs and flows as we get new intakes or adoptions weekly. We go to Nogales Mexico for some of the vetting and we also pick out dogs we think we can get adopted from the Wet Noses Rescue there and sometimes other rescuers. They are fully vetted and usually about good to go to get adopted.  We also  take in strays or owner surrenders from Phoenix area, many from the Hispanic community.
Since 2020 I have been helping African children with food and medicine  and dog rescues as well as LGBTQ refugees in camps who are waiting to get a chance to immigrate to safe countries because in Africa their lives are at risk, many running from their own families and communities who wanted to kill them.
I have spotfunds for them, but the truth is I put in a lot of my own money, from my successful healing practice. I have a rescued Service chihuahua who even comes to my office with me.
We need food donations as well as blankets, towels and anything we can bring to mexico for the rescuers there as well.
Cash donations will always be accepted gratefully and used to save lives, both human and animal. Adoptions and a few cash donations that we do receive keep us going.
Thank you,
Laila n Doggies

Rescued Cookie this beautiful Yorkie and her Maltese sister Sophie today from a woman who couldn't keep them anymore. Took Cookie to the vet, and realized she needs bloodwork to see what hormonal issue could be happening with her skin and she also needs a dental!

Donate if you can.

Hi friends. We have received some terrible news that our air conditioning unit has broken and needs the repair of the fan.And the control system and a deep cleaning because of all of the dust and hair from the dogs. The landlord has written us a business lease, which means we are responsible for all the repairs of the house. We are already living without hot water. Because we can't afford a new hot water. Heater, but now this news just added to our distress. Luckily, it isn't too hot yet.But it will be soon and we always run the fan at least for some fresh air with the dogs in the house. I know.It seems like a mountain and we need a miracle right now.But anything can help!

Thanks, Laila and the Doggies

Our newest intake. Bruno is a 5 yr old Bernadoodle. He is fixed, he just needs shots, a dental and grooming. His family was deported. He's a little shy, but took a nice walk with me last night. Good for an older person- he walks slowly and doesnt pull at all! Please keep supporting our work in any way you can.
