Our Friends Need Your Help
Fire, Hurricane and Sickness
Dear Friends and Family:
We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts. We wish to share the story of one of our dearest friends who faces immense financial hardship coupled with profound emotional stress and illness. In times like these, it truly “takes a village” to help others during their greatest time of need; people full of compassion and empathy. We write to ask for your financial support along with your prayers. Our friends - Tambra and Jimmy - are extraordinary individuals who have always been there for others in times of need. This year alone, Tambra battled cancer, Hurricane Idalia swept through their home leaving destruction behind, and one week later the already hurricane-damaged home was completely ruined by a rampant fire. Unfortunately, circumstances took a turn for the worse because Tambra and Jimmy’s home insurance coverage was dropped right before Hurricane Idalia - meaning, no coverage for such loss. Now they are struggling to rebuild their home from the ground up as well as replace interior furniture and personal belongings. For the past two and a half years Jimmy has stayed home to care for his elderly brother; whereas Tambra remained employed - even through her intense cancer treatments. Because of the the fire and being displaced , Jimmy’s elderly brother was admitted to a nursing home in order for Jimmy to go back to full time employment.
The main unexpected expenses are: rebuilding their home and paying for temporary housing. Despite these overwhelming circumstances, both remain optimistic and find strength in their faith and trust in God. We have known Tambra since college years (mid 80s). Not once has she ever asked others for financial help. She is fiercely independent and hard working. If anything, she was always willing to assist others in need. The fact that she is allowing us to post this page says a lot about how strenuous their situation is and the toll it is taking on their well-being. In times like these, the support and kindness of friends, family, and community members will make an immeasurable difference.
With humble hearts, we reach out to request your assistance in helping our friends through this difficult time. Your support, no matter how small, could be a lifeline that Tambra and Jimmy need to begin rebuilding their home and move forward with renewed hope. If you are able to contribute, please do.
