Melissa MacKinnon was diagnosed with Stage 3a breast cancer just days after discovering she was pregnant with her third child in October 2023. After undergoing a mastectomy and chemotherapy, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Vivienne in May 2024.
Following 16 rounds of chemotherapy and 10 rounds of radiation, Melissa achieved remission in January 2025. She continues to fight against recurrence through daily medication and regular visits to her oncologist.
After being nominated by her sister, Melissa is now a finalist in the Supermom competition hosted by Woman’s World Magazine. This competition recognizes extraordinary mothers and benefits the Children's Miracle Network.
The winner will be featured in the magazine and receive a $20,000 prize to help with medical expenses.
