On July 18, 2025, I went to San Jose bike night with some friends. Our starting point was city hall. We got to the park and I was on a turn and lost control. I ended up hitting another cyclist, but they weren't injured. I was unable to walk, and I couldn't move my right leg. I was in a tremendous amount of pain, my left hand was bleeding and I had bruises on both hands and chest. My friends husband and brother carried me and I was rushed to the Emergency room at El Camino Health in Mountain View, California near my home. They told me I had a Tibial Plateau fracture and I needed surgery. I went home that night and the following Tuesday I went to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, CA. I was admitted and scheduled for surgery the next morning. I stayed in the hospital for 5 days. I am grateful to my surgeon and the health care providers who helped me. I am home now, and it's been difficult. My disability is pending, and right now I need help to pay for rent, bills, food, toiletries and some medical bills. I have limited help and I am grateful for the friends who are able to help me during this time. Thank you for reading and thank you for your donations. ππ½
