We are reaching out to you with sadness in our hearts as we are scrambling to bring immediate aid to a wonderful loving and respected family.
My son, Mike Alvarado, and the love of his life Felisha have found themselves in financial distress, along with their five children Including a newborn son.
Mike suffered from a back injury over a month ago that forced him to miss several weeks of work as he was recovering from his injury.
Not knowing the severity of the damage that was done he returned to work as he needed to support his family. No matter how cautious he was about not getting injured again, the unthinkable happened but this time it was more severe. This time he had to seek medical care and he was immediately admitted to the hospital. His treating doctor put in an order for internal imagery of his newest debilitating injury and it is then that they discovered more serious underlying medical conditions.
Mike's internal images were sent to a specialist who in turn found these findings :
Mike has moderate lower thoracic and lumbar spondylosis. There is Levoconvex curvature of the lower thoracic and lumbar spine. There is degenerative retrdisthesis of L1 on L2 and of L2 on L3 plus lower thoracic lumbar spondylitis. Mikes Levoconvex curvature of the lower thoracic and lumbar spine curves to the left which is towards his heart and this concerns his health professionals as this rare curvature can lead to many more life-threatening conditions. There is no sure fix for this medical condition but it can be maintained.
These findings are the reason he has had multiple injuries and without getting the proper treatment will continue to get worse.
At this time, Mike has returned home and he is unable to work or even function properly. Dealing with his basic daily physical needs has been very difficult and so upsetting to him as he can't even hold his newborn son.
His wife is unable to return to work as she just had their baby and has 4 other children under the age of 12 to care for. Mike can not perform any of the physical parenting duties and they are not in a place where they could afford childcare for their children.
This leaves them in a very difficult financial situation. This is why we have started this fundraiser to help them during this time of dire need.
The children in this family are all incredibly talented and are just great kids.
They all have a passion for learning and a zest for life,
but it's hard for them to maintain this spirit when they are struggling to get by.
lf left untreated without the proper healing time these are the potential complications associated with moderate and severe forms of levoscoliosis and retrolisthesis which is a spinal condition involving the degeneration of the spine's intervertebral discs, caused by a vertebra's backward slippage.
This puts uneven pressure on the disc and its surrounding area which is very painful and debilitating.
These are the more severe ailments that Mike and his family will have to go through.
• chronic and often debilitating back and chest pain
• stress, anxiety, and depression
• lung and breathing problems
• rib irregularities and pain
• heart distress and heart failure
• a loss of control or reduced functioning of the bladder and bowels
• a loss of sensation reduced blood flow, or pain in the arms and legs
Mike must get treatment
We are asking you to please extend a helping hand to this family by contributing to our fundraiser. Your donations will be utilized to cover the family's basic needs, such as house payments, groceries, utilities, and medical expenses associated with the Mikes treatment.
We want to make sure that this family has everything they need to get them through this difficult time and support them in their pursuit of better health for my son.
As a family, we are doing what we can to support them through these difficult times but they need your help.
