It physically PAINS me to ask for help, but I am going to be out of work for 6 - 8 weeks.
I am the primary source of income for my family and I am needing an emergent procedure in the next few days.
In a weird twist, I inadvertently caused the injury and subsequent infection that is causing this emergent surgery.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in February and I have been walking to decrease weight gain and increase my physical activity. I developed a blister of the middle toe on my right foot, and even though I was caring for the blister as directed by my doctor, the infection was hiding under a callus, and traveled to the bone and it has begun to kill the tissue of my toe, so the surgeon is going to amputate it in the next 48 hours. I am hopeful that the infection has not spread further into my foot, and more surgery is not needed.
The funds will help with transportation (I will not be able to drive), co pays for physical therapy, rent / utilities, and food.
I know that times are difficult for all of us, but any funds that you could spare will help cushion this catastrophic event.
