They have done their best.
They know everyone is struggling right now, and asking for help is not what they want to do.
In April, Amy had a seizure that set off fireworks in her body. She lost most of her mobility and struggled to walk. After the seizure, she lost her right to drive for 6 months. Dustin selflessly stepped in to be her driver to work, to her appointments, for everything.
Unfortunately this affected HIS work and he lost his job. Compounding things, in August while driving to Amy's work, they were hit FIVE times on 275.
The car was in the bodyshop for 5 months. Already facing mobility and health issues, now they were down to their work truck for transportation and seeing doctors frequently.
Amy lost her job in September.
They cut back on expenses. They cut corners.
Their savings weren't enough. When Amy got a new job in December, they had to rent a car out of pocket so she could work in a travel job. Work is still incredibly hard.
Amy and Dustin spent their lives before everything went haywire dedicated to saving God's creatures that needed help. All of their dogs were abused or neglected before they were rescued. They spent every waking moment taking care of those once discarded.
At this point, the dogs eat and the people fast. Asking for help is driven by the desire not to lose these dogs, or lose the house. Losing the house would be disastrous for these animals, who already suffered so much.
They have sold everything they can. Anything of value has been listed for sale. It's not selling fast enough, and even if it does...it won't add up to enough.
This plea for help would get the mortgage up to date and put gas in the car so they can keep working.
If you see it in your heart, anything helps.
