Help Us Fight for Fairness in Aubrey’s Sentencing
Dear friends, family, and anyone who believes in second chances,
I’m reaching out during one of the most painful and complicated times in my life. My ex-husband, Aubrey Spencer, is currently incarcerated and facing charges that could result in a life sentence. We’re not here to claim that he’s innocent - he made a tragic mistake. But this story, like so many others, is more complex than a single moment.
Aubrey has struggled for years with addiction and mental health issues. These challenges do not excuse his actions, but they are a vital part of the context. That’s why we’re raising funds - not to erase what happened - but to ensure the court fully understands who Aubrey is, how he got here, and why he’s still a human being worth fighting for.
We are seeking to raise $50,000 to fund mitigation efforts, legal representation, expert evaluations, and supporting documentation that can be used during sentencing. This is about ensuring that his full story is heard - not just the charges on paper. A proper mitigation defense can mean the difference between a life thrown away and a sentence that acknowledges both accountability and humanity.
Your support will help us pay for:
• A qualified attorney experienced in complex criminal cases
• A mitigation specialist to build a full life history
• Expert assessments for addiction, trauma, and mental health
• Court-related filing and investigation costs
Even if you cannot contribute financially, simply sharing this fundraiser helps more than you know. We are not asking for sympathy - we are asking for fairness and dignity in a system that often forgets both.
Thank you for reading and for caring. Every donation, share, or message of encouragement is deeply appreciated.
With gratitude,
Shawna Jung
