I’m reaching out during one of the most painful and complicated times in my life. My ex-husband, Aubrey Spencer, is currently incarcerated and facing charges that could result in a life sentence. We’re not here to claim that he’s innocent - he made a tragic mistake. But this story, like so many others, is more complex than a single moment.

Aubrey has struggled for years with addiction and mental health issues. These challenges do not excuse his actions, but they are a vital part of the context.
