Hi everyone, it’s Kali. Today I want to introduce you to Noura, a 20-year-old mother from Gaza whose baby girl Leen is only one month old.
Noura has lost members of her family in the war and, with them, the support that once helped her survive.
She now lives with her husband and newborn daughter in a school in the Sheikh Ajlin area, south of Street 10. Her husband is unemployed, and their family is struggling to find food, shelter, and even enough milk for their tiny baby.
Noura’s Message
Hello, I’m Noura from Gaza. I am 20 years old, and I have a baby girl named Leen who was born just one month ago.
Some of my family members were killed in the war. After losing them, I also lost the people who used to support me and help me make ends meet.
Now I live with my husband and my baby, but we are homeless. My husband is unemployed because there are very few opportunities to work. We are living in a school, and we struggle every day to find food, shelter, and milk for our daughter.
Leen is only one month old, and she spends much of her time crying. As her mother, it breaks my heart when I cannot provide everything she needs.
I also had dreams of finishing my education. I was an excellent student when I was younger, but financial difficulties prevented me from continuing my studies. I still dream of completing my education one day.
I am very ashamed to ask for help, but I have no other choice. I hope you can help my family and help mend this broken heart that has endured so much loss, hunger, sorrow, and pain.
