Dr. Theo Colborn (1927-2014) was an influential environmental scientist known for her groundbreaking research on endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs). Her discoveries of the harmful effects of EDCs on wildlife and humans highlighted the urgent need to address these issues for the protection of our children's health and the environment.
I am currently writing an NSF-supported biography of Theo and her significant work on endocrine disruption, which is largely based on information provided by her publications and those of other scientists; oral histories of her colleagues, friends, and family members; and the large collection of papers currently being cataloged by the University of Colorado Boulder Libraries and Archives (Rare and Distinctive Collections).
To expedite the availability of her collection (and my ability to cite specific dossier numbers), I am seeking $7,000 to donate to UC Boulder to hire a senior student to work on cataloging Theo's papers for a year. Any assistance you can provide will help expedite this project's completion. Thank you!
