Hi, my name is Melissa Ellis, and I recently stepped in to take emergency custody of my younger sister, Melanie, and my younger uncle, Buddy, to make sure they are safe and cared for.
This all happened very suddenly, within this last couple months, and I didn’t hesitate to take them in because they needed stability and a safe place to go.
I am doing everything I can to hold things together, but I wasn’t financially prepared to take on full responsibility for housing and daily expenses for all of us at once. Right now, my biggest need is securing larger, more cost effective, safe, stable housing so that Melanie and Buddy have a place where they can feel safe and supported.
The funds raised will go toward:
• Rent and security deposit for a bigger place
• Utilities and basic household needs
• Essentials for the kids
They’ve already been through so much, and I just want to give them a stable, safe environment where they can breathe and begin to feel okay again.
