Hello everyone,
My name is Josephine and I am currently facing the hardest challenge of my life. Due to unexpected circumstances, my four children and I have recently lost our stable housing and are currently experiencing homelessness. At the same time, I am fighting through the appeals process to secure the unemployment benefits I am rightfully owed.
Stability is everything for my kids right now. My oldest is about to start his junior year in high school, and it is so important that we stay in this area so he can remain in school and finish his path to graduation. On top of that, I need to keep my twins in their daycare routine, especially with their birthday coming up on August 29th. The stress of this situation has also taken a heavy mental toll, and I am attending necessary medical and mental health appointments to stay strong for them through all of this.
Keeping our reliable transportation is also vital right now so we can get to medical appointments, daycare, and school while we are unhoused.
As a parent, my absolute highest priority is the safety, health, and well-being of my children. Right now, we are in urgent need of assistance to cover:
Safe, temporary housing or motel stays to keep us in the area and off the street
Vehicle payments and car insurance to keep us mobile and able to get to appointments, daycare, and school
Food, diapers/daily essentials, and a small bit of normalcy for the twins' upcoming birthday
Basic clothing, hygiene supplies, and school items for the kids
I have always worked hard to provide for my family, and asking for help does not come easily to me. But in this moment of crisis, I am reaching out to our community, friends, and anyone who can lend a hand to help bridge this gap until my unemployment is resolved and we can get back on our feet.
