Hi everyone,
My name is Ruby and I have come to spotfund to raise funds for someone who is very close to me.
On August 8, 2024, my mom fell victim to violence. She was ra**** and assaulted in her home by someone she knew. Her life was threatened and she sustained both physical and emotional damage. Her assailant is now in custody which is a huge relief for my mom, who still faces some PTSD after what she endured. We are thankful for SFPD for taking action and capturing her assailant within a day of the assault happening.
I ask that people be mindful and respectful of this situation as there was video survaillence of the gruesome incident and we do not need to pass criticism or judgement questioning of wether this event took place or not. I personally had to watch the video survaillance and hand it over to a detective that was working on my mothers case. I can say that no human being deserves to go through what my mother went through, and no child should have to be forced to watch video of their parent being assaulted and ra**** repeatedly. Please be mindful and respectful of my mother at this point in time.
I am here to ask for donations for my mom who is a victim in need of help. She needs help with costs of moving out of her current home, finding a new place to live, and to help cover temporary living expenses. Donations will also help her recover or replace items that were damaged in the home. Other potential uses of the funds will be to seek therapy and private legal representation in the matter.
I have already made the efforts to reach out to local resources for my mom and the assistance available was very limited or the extent of their help was not of financial. Therefore that has lead me to create this fundraiser for my mom.
Currently, she is asking $5k in donations. If this requested amount exceeds, it would greatly help my mom as her ultimate desired goal is to flee from the state where this incident happened. She wants to walk away and never look back which I understand her reasons, therefore any excess proceeds will be used to help relocate my mom in a desired place of her choice.
The day the incident happened my mother called me and as soon as she told me what happend I immediately showed up to her home. I witnessed a horrific scene of my mother beaten from head to toe and her apartment trashed. It was not something for any person to have happen to them and for me to see my mother in her condition was not pleasant. She is a loving woman with a heart of gold and stubborn when it comes to saying "No" to people. Her assailant was a friend of hers who was also a homeless man. She was friendly and kind to him in helping him however she could. He took advantaged of my mother's kindness and almost ended her life. I ask everyone to pray for my mom to help her overcome and recover from the trauma she endured.
