Help A Grandmother Restore Warmth For Her Family

Hello and thank you for reading my story. I have never asked for money anywhere or from anybody. I’m usually the one that tries to help people. I’m a 65-year-old woman that have two adopted children that I’ve had since birth and my two grandchildren that I’ve also had since birth all under the age of 15. I lost my husband on our 40th wedding anniversary and it also fell on Thanksgiving day. We never had problems financially, but when he passed, I made it through a few years, barely until now when my hot water heater went out after 18 years and I have no money to buy a new one. All the children are being taken to my friends house to take showers by myself take old showers. I just need one for my children. I’m desperate and I’m down to be begging because I don’t know what to do. We have no car. My health is not good and I can’t stand to even look at these kids anymore and tell them they have to go take a shower at someone else’s house. People don’t realize how bad it can get with something as menial as a hot water heater. I guess I took it for granted but now I realize how bad it can get I pay all of my bills on time or try to, but it takes every bit of the money I get every month. I may have $100 left at the end of every month to get through to the next month and I’ve done it. I can’t buy my kids anything though especially an outing or clothes, but we are happy. Like I said I’m not used to asking for money and I would be very willing to pay it back. If someone could help me I would sign a contract as well if I have to. I don’t know if that’s the right thing to say, but I just don’t know how this works. We were always the family that tried to help everyone else, but I can’t turn my back on my kids now that we are suffering and I have to do all I can at least to help them out. Anything at all could help me towards a new hot water eater. I’ve even looked into a used one, but was told that was a terrible thing to do and I might end up having to buy a brand new one later on. I feel horrible having to do this and I want whoever reads this to know this isn’t me but I will do anything so these kids don’t have to suffer anymore.
