My darling Herbert has suffered an absess in his anal glands and needed emergency surgery.  I feared a tumor, but alas, God save Herbert and after surgery discovered he needed a drain inserted in his anal glands.  I am awaiting his return.  He has been at the Veterinarian for almost two weeks and every day I miss his little Maltese body which I held each night.  It is lonely without him, but he is coming home soon when God and the Veterinarian agree the time is right. Till then I am alone looking at his photo remembering how good I felt holding him.
